A Heart That Grows from the Sea
This artwork portrays a heart growing through layers of color, texture, and natural elements. Created on canvas using acrylic paint, coral pieces, and leaf-shaped compound, it tells the story of a heart that is not always perfect, yet remains strong, beautiful, and continues to grow even after being touched by pain and the waves of life.

A Heart That Grows from the Sea
I created this heart not as a shape that is always neat and perfect. To me, the heart is a place that holds many colors. There is red, which feels warm, like courage. There is black, which feels deep, like fear, sadness, or things I still cannot put into words. All of these colors blend together, layering over one another, until they become one form that can still be called beautiful.
At the center of this canvas, I made a large heart using acrylic paint. The strokes are thick, uneven, and full of movement. I wanted this heart to feel alive, like something that is still beating. Not a silent heart, but a heart that is constantly learning how to understand itself.
Around the heart, I placed pieces of coral. These small corals feel like protectors to me. They remind me of the sea—a place that is wide and calm, yet also full of hidden mysteries. Coral may look hard, but it actually grows slowly. In the same way, the human heart also needs time to become strong. Sometimes it must endure waves, darkness, and currents that cannot be seen.
The white leaf shapes scattered around the heart are made from compound. Their forms are simple, like little flowers floating gently across a purple and blue sky. These leaves feel like hope to me. They do not force the heart to change, but they stay nearby, accompanying it from a distance. They are present softly, giving the heart space to breathe.
The background is painted in soft colors, like the sky in a quiet moment. There are shades of purple, blue, and a gentle light that feels calm and tender. These colors allow the heart in the center to appear stronger, as if something brave can still stand firmly within softness.
This artwork tells the story of a heart that does not need to be perfect in order to be loved. A heart may carry dark parts. A heart may be wounded, messy, or filled with colors that are difficult to explain. But as long as it is still growing, still surrounded by hope, and still brave enough to feel, that heart remains precious.
To me, every piece of coral, every leaf, and every brushstroke is part of a journey. Some parts are hard, some are gentle. Some are dark, some are full of light. Yet all of them belong together inside one heart.
Because perhaps the most beautiful heart is not the one that has never been hurt,
but the one that continues to grow, even after being touched by the waves.
